- Christ Church
Christ Church the second oldest church in the North India and the oldest in Shimla as well. The stained glass windows of this Church represent Hope, Charity, Faith, Patience, and Humanity. Moreover, because of its incredible architecture, lots of tourists get attracted towards it every year. The amazing fact about this church is that the Pipe Organ of this church is the biggest Indian Subcontinent. If you’re looking for a spot where you can meditate, pray and relax, this church is a perfect place of repose. In addition, it is quite worth spending some time there. This place was home for a myriad of adventure sports during the British rule including racing, polo, and cricket. It is located at the altitude of 1864 meters. Moreover, as the race course, there has been converted into a mini golf course, so this spot is just perfect for all the golf lovers. This mini golf course also serves as a helipad. To catch this picturesque spot, don’t forget to carry your camera along with you there. Besides, this spot is currently owned by the Indian Army. The visiting time of this amazing spot is from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Jakhoo Hill
Jakhoo Hill is approximately 2 km away from Shimla and believed to be the highest peak in Shimla (approx. 8000 feet high). It is like a heaven for the nature lovers. In addition, to reach there, visitors have to go through a dense forest of deodar trees. Also, an ancient Lord Hanuman Temple is also at the top of Jakhoo hill. If someone is not able to reach there by walking, he can hire a pony or a taxi to reach there. - Daranghati Sanctuary
Daranghati Sanctuary is located near Rampur Bushahr which is about 150 km from Shimla and this area was the hunting ground of the Royal Family Rampur Bushahr. The spot was designated as a sanctuary in 1962. The atmosphere of this place does not remain same throughout the year. From January to March, there is a frequent snowfall and from July to September, there is heavy precipitation. In this sanctuary, you can see musk deer, tragopan, monal, ghoral, thar and lots more.
