Indian Leopard is at number 5 on my list of top 5 wild animals found in India . The leopards belong to Felidae family. Moreover, these are well known for their ability to climbing the trees. Also, these are powerful swimmers too. There are approximately 14,000 leopards in the Indian subcontinent. Besides, they share their habitat with other predators but are also threatened by loss of habitat and fragmentation.

The next wild animal on my list of top 5 wild animals found in India is Asiatic Lion. Asiatic Lions or Indian Lions are also known as Panthera Leo Lersica. These are one of the five big cats found in India and also one of the largest of Indian cat. In addition, their habitat area is very small and they survive only in Gir National Park of Gujarat. Moreover, there are only about 411 Asiatic lions are left in the wild forest of Junagarh.

Indian Rhinoceros is also known as Great Indian Rhinoceros and are native to the Indian subcontinent. In addition, these are at 3rd rank on my list of top 5 wild animals found in India . Their population is approximately 3,555. Moreover, they primarily found north-eastern states of India. Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary and Kaziranga National Park shelters the highest density of Indian Rhinoceros in the world.

The other name of “Great Indian Elephant” is “Elephas Maximus Indicus”. These endangered species are classified as megaherbivores. Also, these are at 2nd ranked on my list of top 5 wild animals found in India. Besides, these Asiatic Elephants survives in grasslands, evergreen, and semi-evergreen forests. These are also considered as one of the endangered species.

The Royal Bengal Tiger is the second largest species of the wild cat after the Siberian Tiger and also the national animal of India. These are at the top most position on my list of top 5 wild animals found in India and also known as Panthera Tigris Tigris. Moreover, Panthera Tigris Tigris is listed as an endangered mammal. They belong to Felidae family. In addition, there are approximately 3,890 Royal Bengal Tigers found in the wild forest of India.
